This landscape project transformed a Paradise Valley, AZ backyard into a resort-style oasis that is perfect for entertaining. The modern architecture of the house meant that this design needed to focus on clean straight lines and with glass and metal finishes that are not the norm in traditional southwest design. But the Unique design team rose to the challenge and created a modern outdoor living space that is both functional and strikingly beautiful. The large flat roof on each shade structure mirrors the roofline of the house and looks as if they were all part of the original construction.


The massive expanse of artificial turf and the professional quality putting green provide just enough softness to balance the very geometric house and pool. And the strategic location of two BBQ islands means that guests are never too far from a cool beverage in one of the outdoor refrigerators when enjoying the pool, the large fire pit or the putting green.
The landscape design follows the modern theme of a simple plant selection, but one that adds color, texture, and interest to each area without blocking the beautiful view. And even as the plants mature, they will maintain the symmetry that is constant throughout the yard. The views inside this yard and beyond the privacy wall could easily pass for those found at any 5-star Paradise Valley resort.
